Sky was the first who ruled over the whole world. And having wedded Earth, he begat first the Hundred-handed, as they are named: Briareus, Gyes, Cottus, who were unsurpassed in size and might, each of them having a hundred hands and fifty heads.

The Book Club selection for June is the first installment of Apollodorus Library (or Bibliotheca in some editions). We will read Book 1, which starts with a Theogony, differing in some details from the Hesiod version with which we are more familiar. It continues with myths of some of the early heroes, including the Argonauts.

The discussion will start and continue in the Forum, here, and we will meet online on Tuesday, June 25th at 5 a.m. EDT, and 11 a.m. EDT. Links will be posted on the day.
